imperfect-pastor-small“The Imperfect Pastor” – with Dr. Zack Eswine

“It’s hard to imagine a book packed with more grace and insight into the extraordinary life of the ordinary pastor. So I’ll quit trying and just read Zack Eswine’s The Imperfect Pastor again. No one today shows more insight into the perils and joys of everyday ministry in the local church—a refreshingly honest and beautifully written meditation.”

Mark Galli, Editor, Christianity Today

spurgeons-sorrows“Spurgeon’s Sorrows” – with Dr. Zack Eswine

Christians should have answers, shouldn’t they? Depression affects many people both personally and through the ones we love. Depression is not new though, indeed the “Prince of Preachers” C.H. Spurgeon struggled with depression and talked openly about it.  Join us as Dr. Zack Eswine draws from Spurgeon’s experiences to encourage, refresh and train us as we seek to care for those who struggle with the darkness of depression.  What Spurgeon found in his darkness can serve as a light in our own darkness.

In this seminar, Dr. Eswine will seek to provide a foundation for understanding what depression is, what it isn’t and how it can be dealt with. Then building upon that foundation he will explain how we can help those who suffer and how we ourselves can overcome depression.

About the Event

Be refreshed this February

We’re thrilled to be returning to last year’s event location at the beautiful campus of Westminster Seminary in Escondido, California.

We are excited to have Dr. Zack Eswine at the 2017 IBCD Ministry Enrichment Weekend.  These two days will bring much blessing to ministry leaders and lay people alike as we all seek to grow in ability to care for one another.  Friday begins with encouragement for pastors, ministry leaders, and their wives as Dr. Eswine speaks about pastoral ministry from his book The Imperfect Pastor. On Saturday he will help us explore the difficulties of depression and the ways in which we can overcome it.

We’re really looking forward to seeing old friends and new faces in February!
