New Case! Aaron & Ellie | Counseling Care for Bipolar Disorder

About “Aaron & Ellie”

Aaron and Ellie have turned to biblical counseling on the heels of Aaron’s most recent manic episode which ended in his hospitalization. Aaron has had several such episodes over the years and this time Ellie feels that she is at her wit’s end. The couple’s finances are in shambles and they are clueless as to how to pick up the pieces.

What is wrong with Aaron anyway? If he really has the Holy Spirit shouldn’t he be able to control himself? Does the Bible really have anything to say that can help this couple?

In these five session you will watch as physician and ACBC counselor Dr. Charles Hodges ministers to them with the help and hope found in the Word of God.

Jesse | Counseling Care for Everyday Struggles

About “Jesse”
Jesse, like many counselees, has been a believer for some time and is a regular attender of a church where he and his wife are both members. No major crisis of faith or circumstance has driven Jesse to seek counseling. Rather, his represents the common case of the struggle for sanctification through the trials of life.

Everyday pressures and conflicts of work, finances, marriage and family have left him wondering if he can take it much longer.  He senses he lacks the joy and peace that he knows are said to accompany the Christian life.  Is this all there is?  How can he persevere when there is no perceivable end in sight?  Is he missing something?

It is our hope that these sessions will illustrate for you how the gospel is the best hope for the “Jesses” in this world.

Danielle | Counseling Care for Eating Disorders

About “Danielle”
Danielle has grown up in and around the church, but at a heart level remains disconnected from God and from His people. Secret unconfessed sin pushes her into further isolation as she tries to hide her struggles from those around her. Without authentic relationships with other believers she has grown critical of others and is convinced that they are constantly judging her.

She lives in fear of the rejection she believes she would face if others really knew her. God appears to her as unsympathetic and disgusted with all the times she has tried to change and failed. In fact, at this point she would rather deny there is a problem than allow herself to hope for change.

Could her life ever reflect the abundant life that Christ offers?

Richard | Counseling Care for Regrets

About “Richard”
Since his conversion in the 70s during the Jesus movement, Richard has been a committed Christian and an active church  member. Recently Richard has begun to struggle with serious discouragement, at times bordering on depression. He wishes he had made different decisions with regard to church, work and family and is finding himself growing bitter about the way things have turned out.

Like many Christians, Richard knows and believes the gospel but is struggling to see how it intersects with his current situation.

How has he drifted from its hope? Is it really relevant for him today?

Dan & Debbie | Counseling Care for Marriage Conflicts

About “Dan & Debbie”
After 22 years of marriage and four children, Dan and Debbie find themselves entrenched in marital conflict and resentment. Opposing underlying assumptions about the proper management of their home and children seem to keep driving them apart. Like many Christian couples they have slipped into sinful patterns, focusing on the shortcomings in their spouse while making excuses for their own sin.

Can they both be right in their disagreements? Who should have the final say in the discipline of the children? How can they be in love again when they are both so dissatisfied by the other?

In this case you will watch firsthand as Dan and Debbie learn to extend grace to one another and how that applies to all areas of life.

Jeremy & Crystal | Counseling Care for Pornography

About “Jeremy & Crystal”
Jeremy is a church-going, hardworking husband and father of four whose long-standing enslavement to pornography is tearing his family apart. His wife Crystal is threatening to move out following a recent incident in which their daughter walked in while her father was viewing inappropriate material on his computer. Jeremy has come for counseling as a last ditch effort to save their marriage.

We believe that their story is all too common in the counseling office and hope that these videos will serve to help train and equip viewers to deal with this kind of sensitive and complex situation.
