Counseling Care for Shame | Digital Handbook

Counseling Care for Shame | Digital Handbook
Kerry Park is a Korean American woman who is struggling with shame, anger and sadness over the current circumstances in her life. She is grieved that her young-adult-daughter, Erin, is showing no interest in the things of the Lord or in attending college. Kerry wonders if she is to blame. Would things be different if she had made better choices? She deeply regrets her own decision not to attend college and feels that her own parents are now judging her for her daughter’s decisions.
She is also frequently in conflict with her husband Tom, whom she believes is not handling the situation as he should. Kerry and Tom are both Christians who attend a local church and have done their best to raise their daughter in the faith. They pray for her, but nothing seems to change. Where is God in all of this? Is there help and hope for Kerry and her family in the gospel?
