The Church is the family of God. Like all families, it has all kings of people– mature and immature, just starting the race of faith and nearing the finish line, those called to lead and others called to follow. God’s Word enables us to thrive in the midst of diverse relationships in our Christian Family, and, ultimately, equips us to honor our Heavenly Father… together!

View all postsJoel Wood, his wife Emily, and their 3 youngest kids live in La Mesa, CA, where he has served as Senior Pastor of New Life Presbyterian Church of La Mesa since October, 2021. He is an ACBC Fellow, an adjunct professor at City Seminary (Sacramento, CA), Westminster Seminary (Philadelphia), OIC, and is ¼ of the Jerusalem Chamber podcast. He received his BA in Educational Ministries/Music from the Moody Bible Institute and his MDiv from Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary in 2008. He completed other graduate work through Dallas Theological Seminary and Mid-America Reformed Seminary. In 2014, He obtained his Doctor of Ministry in Counseling from Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He has been married to Emily for 21 years and loves spending time exploring the West Coast with her and their children.
