2016 is already proving to be a year of exciting transition and growth! After months of work we were able to launch our new website which works better with mobile devices, gives us more control of our content, and will enable us to make and distribute helpful counseling training and resources in new ways. One of our latest resources is the development of the Care & Discipleship Podcast, which is our platform for encouraging those who are involved in the care of others with content that goes beyond what we were able to cover in the Care & Discipleship Course.
Dr. Charles Hodges spoke at our Spring Seminar in March, which was truly a delight. We are so thankful for his contribution to the biblical counseling conversation. In May we are filming our next Observation Video, where Dr. Hodges will be counseling a couple seeking to deal with the husband’s struggle with bipolar disorder. We are planning to release this case in October at the annual ACBC conference and we hope to see many of you there!
Jim and Caroline are busy preparing for their move to North Carolina this summer, where Jim will assume a post as director of the Christian Counseling Program at Reformed Theological Seminary. This new position will enable him to help many men prepare for pastoral ministry, and women learn how to better counsel other women. We’re thrilled that he will also continue as director of IBCD.
Thank you so much for your ongoing support and prayers for IBCD. Your love for the people of God and confidence in the scriptures is a blessing to us. As you read this newsletter, we pray that you will be encouraged by what God continues to do in peoples’ lives through His Word and the power of the Gospel.
